Walk with the Tigers at CPT Saturday, May 17th, 11:00am
My husband and I would like to host a No Kidding event at the Carnivore Preservation Trust
in Pittsboro. This is a rescue and sanctuary for carivores, mostly tigers, and they get some of the income to run this rescue by
guiding tours for the public. We would like to host a tour on Saturday May the 17th at 11 am and we will be the guides for this private tour. This tour is about
an hour and a half to two hours long dependng on the participation of the group and is a walking tour on a dirt trail. The cost for the tour is $12 per person
and there is also a $3 fee if you would like to take pictures. Please
by May 1st to
let me know that you would like to go because we need a head count to give the employees at CPT.

May Book Club Saturday, May 24th, 11:00am
The book for May is THE BELL JAR by Sylvia Plath. It can be found under Fiction in the library or bookstore, though it is largely
autobiographical; also considered to be a modern classic. (247 pages). A vulnerable young girl wins a dream assignment on a big-time New York fashion
magazine and finds herself plunged into a nightmare. An account of Sylvia Plath's own mental breakdown and suicide attempt, The Bell Jar is more than a
confessional novel, it is a comic but painful statement of what happens in a society that expects electroshock to cure the despair of a sensitive, questioning young
artist whose search for identity becomes a terrifying descent toward madness. THE BELL JAR was published one month after her death. Plath was also
posthumously awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 1982 for her Collected Poems. Please
if you would like to attend and I will send details & directions.

Par 3 Golf Saturday, May 24th, 4:00pm
Do you play golf or want to try? Come out to Knight's Play off
Ten Ten Road in Apex and play with some others. The course is great for beginners and challenging enough for experienced players. If you have a few clubs or
can borrow some, come on out around 4:00pm on May 24th. If we have a large group, we can play a few 4 somes and have a little tournament. Best ball is always
fun where each player hits from the same spot (wherever the best shot landed). Knight's Play is a Par 3 course so most holes are not too long. They serve
beer and food such as sandwiches and burgers. The cost is $15/person to walk 18 holes or $25/person to ride 18 holes in a golf cart.
if you are interested by May 19th so I can make Tee times.

June Book Club Saturday, June 28th, 11:00am
The June book for discussion is The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. The clever and inventive tale works on three levels: as an
intriguing science fiction concept, realistic character study and touching love story. Henry De Tamble is a Chicago librarian with "Chrono Displacement" disorder;
at random times, he suddenly disappears without warning and finds himself in his past or his future, usually at a time of importance in his life. This leads
to some wonderful paradoxes. Please
if you would like to attend and I will send details & directions.
